When you've booked and paid for your flydubai flight, please contact one of the flydubai Travel Shops to get the Ok to board approval. Nominal charges may apply. The minimum time required to receive the approval is 72 hours.
You'll need the following documents to apply:
- your original visa;
- your passport copy;
- your booking confirmation.
Important:
- If you are flying to Iraq on a tourist or visit visa, you must also hold a return ticket with flydubai.
- Ok to board approval needs to be obtained before checking in online.
- If you change your flight to a different date, a new Ok to board approval will need to be obtained.
- If you are booked on an interline or codeshare flight with our partner airline, please send an email to fzoktb@flydubai.com to get your Ok to board approval.
It is your responsibility to get the approval prior to your departure and carry all the necessary documents including return ticket. Passengers arriving at the airport without an Ok to board approval will not be allowed to check in and board their flight. flydubai will not be responsible, if you are denied travel by the immigration authorities due to missing or improper travel documents, and will not be liable for any losses you may incur as a result, including providing any refund of any amounts paid.
Ok to Board to Baghdad (BGW) and Najaf (NJF)
An Ok to board approval from Baghdad or Najaf immigration authorities is mandatory for citizens of Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Afghanistan.
Sticker visas will only be accepted if the passenger has obtained it in their country of residence. Paper visa will be accepted if it is issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq. All passengers must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months and contains two unused pages for entry and exit visas.
Important note:
- Citizens of Israel are not permitted to enter Baghdad or Najaf, even if they hold a valid visa. Any passengers holding a passport with Israeli visa or entry stamps to Israel are not permitted to enter Baghdad or Najaf.
- Kurdistan visa or resident card is not accepted for travel to Baghdad or Najaf.
Ok to board to Basra (BSR)
An Ok to board approval from Basra immigration authorities is mandatory for citizens of Ethiopia, Pakistan, India and Afghanistan.
Sticker visas will only be accepted if the passenger has obtained it in their country of residence. Paper visa will be accepted if it is issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq. All passengers must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months and contains two unused pages for entry and exit visas.
Visa on arrival:
- Female passengers married to a citizen of Iraq can get a visa on arrival. They must provide a marriage certificate which is either issued in Iraq or attested by the Embassy of Iraq in the country of issue. Male passengers married to a female citizen of Iraq are not entitled to visa on arrival.
- Passengers of Iraqi origin holding a foreign passport can get a visa on arrival provided they have an Iraq ID.
Important note:
- Citizens of Bangladesh and Israel are not permitted to enter Basra, even if they hold a valid visa. Any passengers holding a passport with Israeli visa or entry stamps to Israel are not permitted to enter Basra.
- Kurdistan visa or resident card is not accepted for travel to Basra.
Visa information for Sulaimaniyah (ISU) and Erbil (EBL)
Passengers must hold one of the following types of valid entry permit:
- e-visa with a QR code issued by Kurdistan regional government;
- Kurdistan resident card. Passenger who have renewed their Kurdistan residence cards after their departure from Kurdistan are not allowed to enter.
- Sticker visa issued by the Embassy of Iraq in the country of residence*.
*Sticker visa for religious purposes (Zyara) is not accepted for travel to Sulaimaniyah or Erbil; Citizens of Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Bangladesh and Nigeria are not allowed to enter with sticker visa unless holding UN passport.
Important note:
- Iraq central government paper visa will not be accepted for travel to Sulaimaniyah or Erbil.
- Citizens of Israel are not permitted to enter Sulaimaniyah or Erbil, even if they hold a valid visa. Any passengers holding a passport with Israeli visa or entry stamps to Israel are not permitted to enter Sulaimaniyah or Erbil.
