Each item of hand baggage should not exceed the maximum dimensions so you can store it in the overhead locker.

Within your main hand baggage allowance, you can carry one of the following types of bag not exceeding the dimensions of 25 x 33 x 20 cm which can be stored under the seat in front of you:

  • One laptop bag
    or
  • One ladies' handbag
    or
  • One gentlemen’s satchel

At check-in desk

If your hand baggage is too big or too heavy to carry on board, you'll need to check it in at the flydubai check-in desk or remove items and place them in your checked baggage subject to your checked baggage allowance and applicable excess baggage rates. Before checking in your hand baggage, please remove any valuable items (e.g. money, jewellery, precious metals) and documents (e.g. passports, business documents, securities deeds).

At boarding gate

All hand baggage, including duty-free purchases, will be measured for weight and dimension limitations at the boarding gate. If your hand baggage exceeds the maximum dimensions, pieces or weight, a fee of AED 200 or USD 55 will be applied per piece. This amount may vary subject to any applicable local fees and taxes.

Electronic devices on board: If a damaged, defective or recalled battery (or device) is inadvertently carried on board the aircraft, the battery or device must be turned off, protected from accidental activation and not re-charged at any time. If any device you are carrying is damaged, hot, produces smoke, is lost or falls into the seat, please inform our cabin crew immediately. Do not try to operate or move the seat as this may damage your device.

Travelling with smart bags

You can carry a smart bag as both checked and hand baggage, provided you meet all requirements outlined by flydubai. Please read our restrictions for smart bags for more information.

Passengers travelling with infants

If you are travelling with an infant and baggage is included in your flight fare, you can carry 10kg checked baggage and 5kg hand baggage. The hand baggage must be smaller than 55 cm x 38 cm x 20 cm, so you can store it in the overhead locker or under the seat in front of you.
