We understand that baggage is an important part of your journey. If your baggage did not arrive with you or is damaged, we will do everything we can to recover, repair and return your baggage to you.

If your baggage is missing or has been damaged when flying with us, you'll need to report it to the baggage services desk at your arrival airport straight away. They'll create a report with a unique reference number, PIR numberiProperty Irregularity Report (PIR) is a report that is created by the local handling agent on arrival when you report your baggage has been delayed or damaged., which you can use to track the status and manage your bag report.

Delayed baggage


If 3 days after your flight your baggage hasn't been found, please update your baggage contents via 'Manage your delayed bag report'. We will then conduct secondary search and contact you when we find your baggage.


Once your baggage has been found, and where local laws allow, you'll be contacted by our local handling agent for delivery, subject to customs clearance. If we can't deliver your baggage, you'll need to collect it from our agent at your arrival airport.


If your bag has been missing for more than 5 days, please complete the Baggage inventory and claim form.

  • a copy of your boarding pass;
  • a photo of the damaged item with brand information;
  • the receipt for the repair to your baggage;
  • proof of excess baggage payments, if any.

If your baggage is damaged beyond repair, you need to get a letter from the repair shop to confirm this.

Our liability

Our liability to you for damage or delay to your baggage is governed and limited by Conditions of Carriage as well as applicable international conventions. flydubai accepts no liability for damage to or loss of valuables, fragile or perishable items that are included in checked baggage, or for minor damage such as staining, scratches, dents etc. caused by normal wear and tear, or for water damage to non-waterproof baggage.

What is a PIR?
A PIR is a Property Irregularity Report that is given to you by the local handling agent on arrival when you report your baggage has been delayed or damaged. The unique reference number of the report helps us to track your bag and return it to you as soon as possible.
How do I receive updates about my delayed baggage?

You can find updates on the status as well as change and add details to your delayed baggage report via Manage your delayed bag report. To log in simply enter your PIR number and last name.

How will I receive my bag after it's been found?

Once your baggage has been found and, where local laws allow, you'll be contacted by our local handling agent to arrange delivery, subject to customs clearance. If we are unable to deliver your baggage to you, you'll be asked to collect it from our local handling agent at your arrival airport.

What do I do if items in my baggage are missing?

Please report it immediately to the local handling agent or via the Contact us form, selecting ‘Baggage – delayed or damaged’ subject in the drop-down.

Do I get a compensation if my baggage is delayed or damaged?
  • If your baggage is delayed, we understand that you may need to buy some essential items such as toiletries and items of basic clothing. We'll reimburse up to USD 50 per day of delay for essential items in the form of voucher from flydubai. The maximum compensation paid is for 3 days (excluding residents of the country where the flight landed).
  • If your baggage is damaged and your claim is successful, flydubai will pay for your bag to be repaired or replaced.

What do I do if I forget something on board or at the airport?

If you've forgotten or lost any of your belongings on board one of our aircraft or at the airport, please contact the lost & found office at the airport where your flight landed.

For Dubai-bound flights, please contact Dubai Airports lost & found office for assistance.

What do I do if my baggage is delayed or damaged on a flight operated by another airline?

If your baggage is delayed or damaged on a flight with one of our partner airlines, please report it to the final carrier which operated the flight.
