Medical clearance and fit-to-fly certificate

Medical clearance or a fit-to-fly certificate will be required in the following (non-exhaustive) circumstances:

• You are travelling with a portable oxygen concentrator (POC)
• You are flying while pregnant
• You require a certain type of wheelchair and mobility assistance
• You are travelling with a plaster cast or leg braces
• You suffer from any disease believed to be actively contagious and infectious
• You have undergone a recent operation
• You require medical assistance during the flight
• You are undergoing medical treatment at the time of travel

A medical certificate stating that you are fit to travel by air should be provided to flydubai when you arrive at the airport. Medical certificates must be written clearly in English or Arabic, signed and stamped by a certified medical professional.

Where a medical clearance / fit-to-fly certificate is provided, it is still at the airline’s discretion to accept you for travel. The factors we consider include whether you can complete the flight safely and if you may affect the safety of the flight or others on board.
